INTRODUCTION

The Perimenopause is a temporary state of change, and menopause is the permanent state of having changed. The process is not complete until you have had a year without a period.

The unpleasant and disturbing symptoms of this change start to diminish long before the process is complete. Once they do, you will have more headspace and bandwidth to start living at cause again.

Slowly you will start to realise that you can make changes in your life that you couldn’t before. This is partly because circumstances loosen. Children are growing up, and hopefully money is a little more plentiful. But more significantly, you also feel more in control of your life. You feel you can make choices that you couldn’t before.

Probably the most important choice is building your new body and the image you want to go with it. Without that you can’t operate effectively in the new world in which you find yourself. This is a world of dynamic women and mostly passive men.

What can you do to improve your wellness?

You can’t tackle everything at once, so we’ve divided wellness into broad categories, allowing you to focus on the areas that need attention first. However, all these elements work together to create overall wellness, and none is more important than another.

If you are serious about improving your Health & Wellness, there is much to learn and do. You may ask why bother. You may not care when you die, but you may be more concerned about how you die. Too many people die in pain, poverty and without dignity. We help you make a better choice!

Digestion and Diet

In middle life, weight gain and the loss of a youthful figure often become common challenges. Despite efforts with dieting and exercise, lasting results can feel elusive.

However, modern research sheds light on the digestive system, showing how the right diet can help restore balance and regain control.

Stress and Mental Health

This topic was once taboo and surrounded by fear. However, today we understand much more about the mind and how it works. It can be out of your control, but it can be brought back to being manageable.

However, this is not usually a quick process.
While individual cases vary greatly, understanding the general causes empowers us to seek help and regain control of our minds.

We have more on this in the Confidence & Image section.

Fresh Air and Exercise

Where and how you live can make a huge difference to your wellness. The benefit of fresh air is huge even if you must travel some distance for it.

Local parks were designed to give that opportunity to city dwellers. They also provide the opportunity for mild exercise in the form of walking.

Put a regular walk into your daily schedule.

Breathing Exercises

There is a huge variety of breathing exercises you can do on your own or in groups. These are massively beneficial as they release old air and bring large amounts of oxygen into your lungs. This goes directly into your blood.

Have you tried what is called Breath Work? This can dig deep into your body and bring up surprising results. It is best done in a class with expert supervision.

Water and Hydration

Enlightened medical experts will confirm that most people are dehydrated. That means they don’t have enough water flushing around their system.

The function of water is to clean out the body and get rid of toxins. Your body is a machine and needs a lot of water to keep it cool and clean.

Some women say I don’t drink too much water because I only pee it out. That is good!  It is removing toxins that will become poisonous if left in your body.

However, tea, coffee, fruit juice and alcohol are not a substitute for plain water. They go a different way and have a different function.

Bodies are very clever. They take what they need for the most important tasks to stay alive. They take water from areas they believe are less important, unfortunately, and these include your face.  Compare the complexion of someone who drinks a lot of water with someone who doesn’t.

Put glasses or bottles of water around your home and drink some whenever you see them. Your body will thank you surprisingly quickly.
